Hello, this is my first post but I'm a long time lurker

We've got an old caravan which we've almost finished fixing up (damp repairs, undoing numerous bodge-jobs, cleaning, cleaning, cleaning, fitting a new carpet, dyeing curtains etc etc etc) and now I need some advice regarding decals.

Firstly the previous owner seems to have painted over a good few decals on the front of the van. The paint on them looks cracked/crazed and you can (very) clearly see the outline of the old stickers underneath. How can I remove these? It's probably too much to hope for but is there such a thing as a solvent I can paint on which will dissolve/unstick them?

Secondly, we have 3 pinholes in the sides of the van (from a screw touching the aluminium skin when it was damp) I've sealed these from the inside but is there any reason I can't just cover the holes on the outside with a vinyl decal? I can't think of any other way to cover/fill them without looking unsightly.

Thanks, Jon

removing these stickers would involve re-painting the whole panel,if you can get a start on them then use a hair drier on the edge of them and pull gently.
if you have stopped the corrision in the pin holes and they are close together what about sticking on some reflecters or an ariel mount or something you would mormaly see on the outside of a caravan

Morning, I didn't think of using the aerial to cover the holes, will be perfect and not look out of place. Thanks Alpine

If you take off the old stickers you will have two levels of paint.I would stick new stickers on top of the old ones.
