Hi all- got a friend who has just purchased a Toyota Rav4 2.2l diesel car 06 plate. Tried to work the sat nav and it is hopeless. We have pressed the right buttons but then all of a sudden it brings a compass to the screen and it will not follow the route planned. Disc is in the car in the slot, was just wondering if these types need and update disc? Please help, it is driving our friend daft.

..Map updates here select your model, but it's often cheaper to buy a new satnav from Halfords etc than update a built in one.

thanks all- yes googled it, even downloaded the whole car manuals and nothing.   Thanks for the 'map updates' will ring our friend and see what he wants to do. Just thought someone with the same car could have given us a clue. cheers
