Hi

We've recently purchased a 1991/2 Abbey 416 GTS. In good nick for its age and totally dry (as long as you don't use the shower cos on first trip out I dumped the empty aquaroll in shower and neatly punched out the plug hole!! £500 for a speedcoat repair so it will need to wait

Anyway that's not my issue. At some point the 12V distribution unit must have failed and been "augmented" with a 9A car charger! I've got a badly photocopied manual that shows two possible units but neither match what I can see and wiring seems to be all over the shop. This doesn't worry me too much as everything appears to be fused and working but having restored and rewired several cars over the years I'd like to get this either back to original or upgrade using a unit from a more modern scrapped van.
Has anyone ever attempted this? Does anyone have a legible wiring diagram they could share? Also proper spec of original unit? Have a friendly qualified electrician to help with the 240v side but would like to tackle this myself.

Thanks for all suggestions

Richard

A new caravan transformer/charger is around £100, I would'nt get secondhand, it will probably fail. This is what you need & if you can do wiring the rest is self explanatory, you don't need a diagram, its not a car. It's common for old caravans to have butchered electrics, they are not diffuicult to sort out if you understand wiring. Use automotive cable for 12v side.
