Hope someone can help with a problem, the fridge freezer in our caravan works fine on gas but not on 230 or 12v - hoping it is something simple but don't know where to find the fuses to check?
would be very grateful for any assistance at all.

It only works on 12v from car battery while you are towing provided towbar is fully wired, it does not work from caravan leisure battery. If fridge is not working on 230v & power is getting through, then suspect failed element, can be repaired, new element around £40 if you diy otherwise + labour rate.

The fridge will only work on 12v when coupled to the car via the grey plug, AND the car engine is running. The fridge could have a standard 13amp plug for 240v, this may be hidden in a cupboard somwhere. First thing to check is the fuse in this plug (if you can find one). Secondly suspect the 240v element, but unless you have access to the correct test equipment and are confident with electrics you should get this checked by a qualified engineer. The fridge may have to come out to change the element and as this involves the gas side being disturbed, this will also need to be checked on refitting.

Hi, thanks for the advice, we looked everywhere for the fridge freezer plug, couldn't find it, asked my husband if he saw it when he took the microwave out to replace its feet, kept jumping out when travelling. he said he couldn't remember so we took it out again, to find that below the microwave socket is a switch, not on, is now freezer is fine again! must have switched it off thinking it was for the microwave. at least we don't have to buy an expensive replacement!

Once again thank you for all the advice.
