Morning, we're planning to reseal the fridge vents on our caravan this weekend. They're not leaking but the mastic is old and crumbly so it really needs doing.
Anyway, I thought I read somewhere that a non setting sealant is best for vents - I can't remember why (to be honest I might have dreamt it, I have a truly appalling memory) So, I have a tube of Seamseal, some roll mastic and some Sikaflex 512. Which one should I be using?

i take it you are talking about the vent frame, and not the vent covers as these just clip in
On the old vans there is no vent frame and seperate cover, those came in about the turn of the century. The Trophy caravan that is being repaired will be pre 1990 at least so the whole vent will come of and be resealed, preferably with somthing like IDL 99..

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013
