Hi all I'm in the process of changing the water pump on my caravan but after some help. Originally I had a whale pump which used twin blue hose one side the cable ran through the other was cabled tied to either ends of parts (pump and bit that pushes into van).
My question is now I've dismantled the old pump when I try and reuse the same twin hose the hose is very slack around the reich pump outlet therefore I don't see the hose sealing to the pump. On the pump there is a thread so I'm wondering should I get a nut or some fitment so I get a water tight fit onto the pump converting the outlet to allow the hose to fit?or should I just cable tie the hose back onto the reich pump? At a guess without measuring the twin hose looks like 1/2" diameter and the pump outlet around 10-12mm.
The original hose clamps are crimped when manufactured but once removed the best solution is to use the correct size jubilee clips to clamp the hose to the pump outlet and the same at the opposite end at the inlet housing if required.
I may have confused you slightly....the outlet on the reich pump is a lot smaller than the water hose so I'm not sure if it will get a good seal?is the water hose standard on all external water sources? The reich pump has a thread on the outlet also so I'm not sure if you could buy a fitting that converted it back up so it was more of a snug fit onto the water tube?
It may help if you could post a picture regarding the Reich submersible water pump but if you can't, is the pump identical to any of these in the list?
It's a submersible pump I'm not familiar with so the fittings would be different to what I suggested regarding using jubilee clips. Maybe someone who uses one can offer further advice for you on this.
