Hi guys, just bought our first caravan (EribaFamilia 320) and wondered what advice others might have for us on subject of wheel clamps :)

Your insurance might state it has to be clamped also with a hitch lock.Though a wee bit heavy for touring with i use a bull dog clamp and, when i was touring a high security hitch lock.

Thanks Jeff, have seen that some insurers specify particular locks, bull dog is one of them! Will use a hitch lock too. Just had a horror story from the guy fitting our tow bar; one of his customers left their caravan to use the toilets in a service station and when they came out it had gone. Unbelievable. Cheers

Sadly this is a very common story.

NEVER leave you caravan in a service station even for a minute. If you do I would recommend you put a wheel clamp on and a hitch lock if it's possible. Many insurers will now insist on this if you leave the caravan.

We use a Milenco Original Wheel Clamp.

As with Jeff, Bulldog seem to be pretty good and fairly easy to fit.
The Al-Ko one is really the best although you need to find out if it is suitable for your caravan. Expensive too!

I could be wrong, but I don't think the Alko lock will fit the Eriba.

Totally Agree.

If you need to go into the services - take it in turns.

If you need to stop to use the toilet, don't forget you are towing one !
