Hi, we have a Elddis Hurricane EX2000 and I am trying to remove the exterior light cover to change the bulb (the one over the door) there are no apparent screws or clips, I have squeezed and pulled without any joy. I do not want to break the unit so any help would be very welcome!
Thanks guys, I eventually managed to get the cover off but not without a bit of a struggle then to discover that both bulbs were rusted in the sockets, clearly the cover had not been off for some time! A new light fitting required at £17.50 online... could have been worse.
i tried to get my rear lights covers off a few weeks back to fit some led bulbs.. held on with four screws.. plus being firmly "stuck" with not being removed for many years.. i gave up in the end for fear of breaking them..
i now just hope all my existing rear light bulbs keep going.. new covers would be very hard to find.. he he
Hi, should the need arise here,s a last ditch trick that worked for me on an old caravan, faced with seized and rounded screws on rear lens get drill as if to drill off screw heads this heats up screw melts plastic around screw a slight pull on lens whilst doing so releases the lens leaving a slightly larger hole which needs a washer under screw head on refitting. once lens is off you can work on old screw with vice grips. as I say its last ditch but it worked for me and I never had to replace lens or lamp on that caravan. I used long black pan head wood screws to secure lens back on.
I am trying to seperate lens from actual cover. I have the light fitting off but theres mould marks inside the light on reflectors. Its them big bulky lights on many vans of 2005 era. Please advise
