Novice!
New to caravanning with a 1991 Schooner which is nice other than the fact I'm starting from scratch on all of the facility controls.
Can anyone please give me a comprehensive explanation of what this Zigbox does please. I've worked out it runs the 12v off the battery, with a toggle switch for the onboard or car battery - lights, heating fan, extractor fan so far.

What happens when you run off mains? Is the battery charging or are you still running the battery down if your using the 12v lights etc.

Hi, some zig units had a built in charger if this is the case with yours once connected to mains and charger is switched on battery is kept topped up as you use it. some zig units were just a 12v distribution panel with the charger being a separate item if fitted usually in a bunk near to battery.

Thanks, my set up has the box below the bunk seat near to the battery. The wires from the battery go into it and also some of the 240v wiring goes to it too.

Hi, so long as its powered up and working it will keep battery charged while on mains hook up, you can check its working with a meter at battery terminals by watching volt reading at the battery as you connect to mains hook up
