Hi all, we have a fairly new Kampa gas camping cooker which fell over due to a sitting on a sloped pitch (grrr). It fell on its knobs and will ignite the gas but as soon as the knob is released it cuts off. My husband has taken the cooker apart but there is a section he cannot get to to repair it and our efforts to find a repairer has not been successful as most cooker engineers only want to replace parts on conventional ovens.
We are based in Bedfordshire. I don't suppose anyone can recommend an old fashioned engineer who fixes things?!
Hi, Thanks for the reply.
The thermocouple is in the correct position.
The problem seems to be with the dials / knobs on the front. The normal action is to push it in, turn till it clicks for ignition, allow the know to come back out and turn it to the required heat level. But after the oven was blown over and landed on the front, if I push and turn the knob, I hear the ignition click and the flame ignites, but now when i release the knob it goes out straight away.
That still sounds like thermocouple problem not getting hot enough to keep gas on when knob released. What happens if you hold it in longer. My neighbour had the same problem and I suggested the same and that solved his.He now keeps it pressed for about a minute.
Hi, try pulling off the plastic knobs then try to light if the knobs have been forced too far down the spindle they can touch facia before setting valve for thermo couple to hold it open
