Hi
Just noticed there was no heat coming out of the truma heater when I noticed the green light on the thermostat was not on. Everthing else works with the heater so obviously the thermostat is the issue. Im pretty new to caravans so dont know where to start with regards what to check with the thermo. If someone could give me some easy to follow checks it would be much appreciated. Its an Ace Jubilee 2003 if that helps.
Thanks

It may be that the caravan is warm enough and doesn't need any heat so the thermostat won't turn the heater on.

Turn the thermostat to highest temperature.

Not sure what your set up is but you need the fused spur feeding the electric heater switched on. Alternatively you need to light the gas.

I've turned the thermostat all the way up and still no heat. The green light on the thermostat just doesn't come on. Works fine on gas.

Presuming that you have the fused spur on, that the fuse in that is fine and that the switch is working, the next thing to check us if the vtafe is reaching the pcb board then if it is then it's certainly the board that failed.

I think you could glean some info from another member's post regarding a similar topic a couple of days ago.
(Trauma ultra-heat 230v) His turned out to be a blown transformer on the control PCB, no low voltage out therefore no green light on the stat and no control to the rest of the circuit.

Sorry I need to correct you mercydt, you don't need to be a qualified gas engineer to do any work to gas appliances on a mobile caravan, however it should be carried out by someone who is competent and tests joints for leaks.
The only recognised gas qualification is gas safe ... previously known as corgi which only applies to household gas installations, for unknown reasons it doesn't apply to commercial buildings or touring vans.
