Hi, I have a 1997 Abbey GTS Vogue 416 which has a serious damp problem behind the kitchen units. Is it a difficult job to remove the fridge, cooker and fire to get access to the wall in order to make a repair and is it difficult to replace them after making the repair? Incidentally I made a repair behind the wardrobe using tanalised timber spars and new 20mm insulation covered with waterproof ply then wallpaper after replacing the centre aluminium panel which had been perforated by corrosion. The steel tacks used during manufacture had caused the initial corrosion. I used a 1mm thick sheet of aluminium for this.
When reinstalling the awning rail after repair I used stainless steel screws which don't have the same electrolysis effect due to their copper content. I think, after repairing the wall I will reinstall the units with stainless steel screws.
