Hello

Has anyone used a professional damp repairers in the North West that covers Manchester/Wigan, as I am at wit's end trying to locate the source of damp.

Crossleys Caravan Repairs in Leyland are used by most Insurance companies for claims and come highly recommended.

I sent them photographs of caravan accidental damage and insurance details (Caravan club)from which they were able to complete an estimate and get the appropriate approval for repairs.

They also did a first class job,maybe worth checking out their website

Have you used a Damp meter to help you find the source of the leak? This could give you an idea of the scale of the problem and hopefully the site of the water ingress. Usual suspects are window seals, door seals, awning rails, rooflights and roof vents. Until the wall boards are off in the affected area it won't be possible to evaluate the damage and repair needed. Of course the water ingress needs to be stopped before any repair can be made.

Anybody who has had a good job done would recommend them. Presumably most of the time they do a good enough job or they would not be in business?

On the odd ocassion they may do a less than perfect job because nobody is perect. If they are ok to admit the job is not perfect & rectifiy it promptly then one could still recommend them.

However if after doing a bad job they fob the customer off with excuses & fail to rectify that error in a reasonable time frame then the customer is entitled to be dissatisfied & post it on this forum.

Thank you. I would still not recommend Crossleys based on several bad customer service experiences and a repair that I am having tp pay someone else to put right. I have also found an attitude problem with genuine complaints, they just do not accept that they can do anything wrong. We used them for years, thinking, as others do, that we were paying for the best but it appears that this was not the case
