If you`re patient sort of chap you could make a former (frame) to the correct shape then use thin strips of wood (soaked in water to make them pliable) and clamp them to the former so they dry to the correct curve, building up one on top of another until you get the correct thickness.
As what you are doing won`t be visible, it would be far easier, quicker and cheaper to use a few pieces of timber glued and screwed together to make a rough curve then use a jigsaw or similar to get the correct profile. I used this when repairing the rear corner of a Lunar many moons ago. If you`re keeping the van, use treated timber, waterproof glue and stainless or brass screws so if you do get another leak the wood will retain its structure.
