My caravan lost a wheel and damaged the brake drum and bearing. Can anyone tell me where I can get replacement brake drum. Number is 21240-1. Compass Commodore Rallye 400/4. 1982. This much loved van is as new inside and we can't see it going to the scrap yard.

Is it an Alko chassis? Parts are still available for 80s Alko, google for Western Towing website, they should be able to supply them.

We have a Knott braking system. Thanks for the info. Will get them online. Axle type GB 11    1398.

What was the reason for losing a wheel?

Any damage to the hub or backing plate?

As above what happend to cause it to come off?

Sorry for the delay in this reply. A death in the family took precedence over my other problems. I have owned this caravan since new. We were returning home from a few days away and the wheel came off. The wheel nuts were together some 50yards behind us. I have always been extremely careful when replacing the wheels. So it's a mystery, The hub has now been checked out on a lathe and is ok. I have ordered a new wheel bearing which was grumbling. So it doesn't now look as bad as we thought. As to the wheel coming off, it is worrying because there is the possiblity of vandalism. Thank you for your interest and help. My wife is delighted she will still have use of her beloved van.
