Hi everyone and thanks in anticipation.... I have a 2007 registered (2008 model) Pageant Burgundy and after touring for a week in the very wet Peak District discovered a soft patch on the front window sill below the three front windows and in line with the frame between the nearside and middle window. First thoughts were that this was a leaking window seal but inspection by sticking my head in the front locker (where the gas is) revealed that the water appears to be tracking inside the plastic front of the caravan and then onto the wood beam and under the metal sheeting and into the underside of the sill. I've now removed the sill fully which was a challenge without removing the entire van front and discovered that there is a significant black patch under the sill where the water has obviously been creeping in for quite some time - so as ive had the van a year now would have been there on purchase (private sale and not detected on recent service damp check!) Question is where is this water coming from? I suspected the front window hinge bar - so removed it as heard stories of hairline cracks - cleaned off old mastic - no cracks - replaced with fresh IDL99 non setting and put it back together. My next thought its the front roof seal - or possibly awning rail seal and its tracking across (or both) but there is no evidence of water ingress at all and the trusty damp meter confirms this! Ive now had marine ply cut for the replacement sill and obtained correct vinyl direct from Bailey so my question is has anyone else experienced this at all?
------------- thanks for reading!
