Topic: Fridge not working

We're saving for a new caravan so don't really want to be spending too much cash on our old shed. When we had a weekend away last month everything was working fine. However, this weekend we noticed the fridge isn't working. We only really use it on 240V, so couldn't say whether it works on 12V or gas.

At present, all I know is that the circuit breaker for the fridge isn't tripped, but I don't yet know if the problem is with the power supply to the fridge, or the fridge itself...

This is the fridge in question:

Can anyone suggest how it'd held in place, and if it's easy enough to pull out and take a closer look at?

Assume fridge was level when not working? Check power supply to fridge, you also need to check if its working on gas & 12v while towing. If it works on both these modes but not mains then probably failed mains element. New element about £40 + labour for fitting if you cannot diy. If fridge is not working on any of the modes then coolant could have leaked out.

On the inside of the fridge you will see 4 "Buttons" that cover the screws that hold it in place.

Hi I have the same fridge with mine there is a fused spur conection box in the cupboard below fridge Check fuse and 240v surply into box

If the 12v and gas operation are not working it is not definite that the 240v element has gone. They may not be working for some other reason especially if you never use it like that. It is a very likely cause though.

If you can withdraw the fridge and identify the terminals to the element it should have a resistance of around 480ohms (ish).

As stated before, there are 4 plastic buttons inside the fridge, 2 on each side near the front These are caps that cover screws. You will also have to go outside and remove the top ventilation grill cover, quarter turn button, and remove the chimney extension piece from the fridge chimnet to the grill. Back inside remove the two plastic knobs from the control facia, they just pull off, then remove the two cross head screws that secure the facia to the fridge. You should now be able to rock and pull the fridge out sufficiently far to get at the 230Vac terminals on the top of the fridge for testing.

If you want to go any further, you will now have to disconnect the gas supply pipe at the connection on top of the fridge. You will also have to disconnect the 12Vdc connection at the top of the fridge.
Whole lot will now slide out.

ive had problems with my fidge and with the help of youtube was able to fix the gas and 240v faults. Take the fridge out get it on a bench. I had to get a 240v element of ebay approx 30 quid.
Im a novice but its back in my caravan and working great.
