Wondering if anyone has experience of using any of the PTFE-based polish/sealants on their van paintwork.

How easy were they to apply?? How much did you need fo the average van?? have they stood the test of some time??

Typical products are BOORA Permaseal; X1 eXtreme paint Sealant; Car Wax Shop Paint Sealant PTFE.

Thanks for any experiences.

How old is your caravan and why do you think you need to do it

I am getting a new van shortly.

Getting older - and so cleaning the van, and especially getting rid of the black marks etc after the winter is becoming a chore. These would seem to indicate that such tasks will be much easier! But will they really be is my concern??

We have Paintseal on our van, you still get just the same black marks but definitely easier to clean off. We keep the van in storage so when we go away OH is putting on mirrors and tow bar and I just wipe the back of the van with a wet cloth......I always moan about getting stuck behind a dirty caravan, so clean the back of ours before we set off !!

I shouldn't say this but be careful what you do. I used a well known talked about person to come and do my van and really all they use is Autoglym super Resin which you can buy yourself but he insisted as the van has a GRP front which it has and they all do fade and go flat he buffed it and to be honest it has spoiled the front he came back and rebuffed it and it is the same although on his site he says that all he is doing is what you don't want to do yourself he is doing. I think some people will know who I am referring to without mentioning any names and he didn't have any favourable things to say about Paintseal
