Vanmaster of veteran years.17 to be exact, but still a beauty and in spanking order.
How do I remove the electrolux fridge completely from its housing to be replaced by a new mains only fridge. We no longer require gas or 12v connections, I hope its well within my ability, being an able handyman.
The van is permanently on site in France so I cant just pop to my local DIY shop, I want to take everything I will need with me.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Open the fridge door, you will see two plugs on either side of the fridge wall near the front, Pull the plugs out, there are screws holding the fridge in place, unscrew ,fridge loose, becareful with the pipework and wiring etc.

Its not a hangover, its wine flu!
thanks for the quick reply BT, is there any particular difficulty with disconnecting the gas connections at the back. Actually I have never seen them in situ before.
Best way to blank off gas supply to fridge is to trace metal supply pipe back to isolation valves, a group of red knobs in cupboard somewhere. Turn of fridge valve & remove pipe & fit blanking plug which will be available from caravan shop.
Thanks O/S and JJ , I am very grateful for the quick replies , and so helpful.
I now will venture down to France with full confidence, and a blanking plug!
I am actually fitting a 240v only fridge/freezer as replacement. watch this space come spring.
Again many thanks all,
