Hi I'm in the process of finishing my front window frame damp repair.I've done the new frame.I've repaired the cracks in the front abs panel.is the abs front supposed to be stapled to the wooden window from from outside.as when I pulled it apart it was but that's where the cracks started from.there where 2 staples above each window when I stripped it.
Thanks

If you fix it ensure you drill clearance holes through the ABS first. ABS is just looking to crack at any opportunity and this gets worse with age, so for fixings like screws etc don't give it a helping hand, pre-drill clearance size holes, if any are needed at all. Consider bonding with a PU sealant like Sikaflex as a better means of any fixing down.
Ok thanks.I'm not sure if it's supposed to be fasteneed or not.I've got some pu and sikaflex.I've tried messaging others that have done there's but no replies.they might not even come on here anymore lol

The staples are meant to be there as means of securing to wood work.
I would use CSK woodscrews s/s if can get with clearance hole abs with sealant to help bond.
The idea being to stop abs going left while frame goes right while towing so to speak.
