Hi I've developed a small damp reading just above front window and below the front trim so I've booked it in for inspection at bawtry caravans they can't give me a quote until it's been inspected so was wondering if anyone has had a front trim reseal and what was the price I've no experience to do it myself and to be honest I wouldn't try as my vans in storage I'm just after a general idea of what the bill is going to be thanks in advance
sorry to hijack this thread, but i also need to do a quick reseal on the rail that runs length ways along the van 3/4 way up the nr side wall. indeed i will do it myself, however van is in storage and cannot bring home due to size of road and driveway not being big enough. Question is :-
What size and type of screws would i need prior to starting the job.i.e. Zinc coated, Brass, Stainless steel?
i have the seal and mastic so no issues there, just more the screws.
Any help would be ideal.
again sorry for hijacking thread.
If you have stainless steel screws fitted, they will reuse, but if not and rusty, buy stainless steel screws the same size or very slightly larger. Squeeze a little mastic / sealant in the holes after you have cleaned up the old sealant, and before you reattach the rail.
And get a second person to help when it comes time to present the taped rail up into place. As soon as it touches it sticks so you need to take your time and be careful and accurate.
