Hi guys!
OK im not really after any help as such just opinions....
Now weve got this 1980s Monza and weve loved doing the hay festival, and going down south and its going to get some use this year too.
Now without writing an essay, weve graduated now, looking for professional work, so these modifications are going to be done inn my own time, probably for next year to go on a european road trip rather than camping trip on sites....
So i plan on doing a few modifications to make it a bit easier and homely...

Im going to fit an internal water tank pump etc so weve got working sinks, just a small 15-25 litre one.... Ive got a small 2 stroke generator, and a solar panel (50w) charging the 100amp battery with a small inverter for laptop charging.... already got a 12v phone/tablet charge points, small dvd player and radio/cd fitted....

Can anyone think of anything that might be handy for using a caravan on the road rather than on sites?

On board toilet and shower.
Big fierce dog and strong door lock.
Rather than invertor for charging just use a car charger with a USB. You have 12v.

Be careful of the weight because you probably don't have much payload allowance.

yeah the weight could be an issue, if i remember right, we have about 300kg approx 600kg unladen, 900kg fully laden.... but if im honest, im not too worried about it...... Toilet weve got but a shower im umming and ahhing about..... Weve only cold water in the van, so maybe just put down a shower tray and have a camping shower that just pumps preheated water out for a quick shower.... Always swimming baths! haha :)........... edited to correct wrong weights

I can't see the point of generator. If you are driving most days you will be charging battery, you can charge devices while driving as well. Plenty of campsites in Europe so no need to wildcamp that much anyway.

I suppose the generator is just for peace of mind.... Dont want ot be in the middle of nowhere with a flat battery or something similar, with a basic generator ive got pull start power....

This is a pretty comprehensive list
http://www.eurocampings.co.uk/?utm_source=Header%20tab&utm_medium=Internal%20link&........

But if you spend a few quid and buy their directory and card, you can save plenty of money at these sites out of high season

Charge the laptop direct off the 12v battery, dont use an inverter. Inverters are inefficient. 60w draw will use 100w from the battery.

A 12v laptop charger will be 95% efficient or better depending on the output voltage. The inverter is probably 60%.

Adding all that is a lot of weight, 25L water = 25kg? plus the tank etc.
