I am in the process of checking our caravan over and sterilising the water system before going away. We have only had this COC for a couple of months and I have found that the cold water only trickles out of the kitchen sink tap but is a little better at the bathroom tap. The pressure in the hot water system appears to be OK. I am assuming that there is either a partial blockage or a kink in the cold water pipe. Would this seem to be a reasonable assumption or is it likely to be another issue?
When the cold water is pumped into the system from the water barrel it fills the hot water tank first and the cold water supply is secondary which sounds like the air in the hot water pipes has been expelled but still some remaining in the cold supply. The highest point in the water system is the shower so it may pay to open the taps at the shower to see if any remaining air needs to escape. Once this is achieved then try the taps furthest away from the pump. This is quite normal but make sure you have a fully charged leisure battery to constantly activate the water pump as sometimes it can take a while to get the water to flow freely as it should .
Pressure is same for both hot+cold Check the screen filter on outlet of tap for a blockage i e limescale. you may see two flat areas on filter with a spanner undo it and clean
If you have not renewed the filter take the insides out of it,its easy, take out the bag of charcoal. You dont need a filter in fact,a lot of vans dont have one and the small bits of grit if any is trapped in the mesh on the cold tap.If the filter is dirty it will be causing lack of pressure.
