So I'm pulling up the old carpet on our Bailey Ranger and find this nastiness.

I haven't had the time to fully investigate yet but can anyone put their finger on the cause? I'm thinking it could be running in from around the door frame if the sealant is compromised? Can't see any obvious holes but was raining so couldn't see that well. Not really sure where to start..... Obviously need to stop the leak and replace this flooring but is there likely to be damage elsewhere too..... like the wall around the door?
Anyone guess a ballpark figure to get a man that can in to repair as I'm not known for my Joseph skills.

Feeling deflated :/

oh dear. I had a smaller door leak than that so not sure if I can fully help. My van is 2003 and the area affected was around a quarter of that. a small patch of the ply had turned crumbly once fully dried. I have cut it out, used wood filler and am now about to put a new piece of formica covered ply over the top.

I managed to track down the leak to the door rubber and the metal protection tread at the bottom of the door. The metal tread had been riveted into the metal door surround (and through the rubber seal) so water just seeped in where the rivets were not watertight. I removed the rivets and filled the holes (which went through both inner and outer ridges of the metal channel). Bought a new rubber seal and no water has come in since.

I cut the damage out and removed the drip tray before turning a light hose on the door area. I did notice some daylight between seal and bottom of door. Anyway, the hose resulted on quite a lot of water running down the seals and into the van. At first I thought I'd cracked it.... new seal ordered and arriving Wednesday. Then I thought a bit more and remembered the drip tray..... If the drip tray was in place, it would have collected any water running down the seals and out through the drain hole. So now I'm a bit puzzled. Suppose will just have to change the seal then get the hose on it again. Any other ideas anyone?

i'm midway through a fairly substantial caravan repair which has included three floor repairs. its hard to know where the water is coming from until you peel away a little bit more. the door is attached to a wooden frame with about 20 screws. mastic is used in between the door and caravan to seal the joint and hopefully prevent water ingress. number of things could have happened: the water could be coming in through a screw hole, the mastic may have given between the door and door frame, the rubber could be leaking or the door lip might be damaged.

it does look like a substantial leak. I had a similar problem. mines was a damaged door. however the water had went through the floor and into bottom rail. it had also affected the wooden door frame. the screws therefore in any which has been damp for a long time or has turned to black rot will not have the same purchase which will in turn lead to future leaks. if the wooden frame is affected and has been for some time this can cause the alluminium to pit and create water ingress points on the alluminium skin.
