Winter is coming to NZ!
I have a Swift 555 caravan.I have discovered that the copper tube leading away from the "cigar" on the Safety pilot valve unit is not connected to the underfloor unit.
The heater Truma S3002,works OK. I would have thought that the burner would not operate with the tube disconnected?? Please educate me about this matter!
I am guessing here but the (cigar) thing is the thermostat for the fire other wise could do with a picture they could of done away with it and use a remote sensor plugged into the rear of the fire.
Are you talking about the thermocouple which when heated the inner expands and opens the gas valve to allow gas to the burner.
Usually it is clamped to keep the cigar shaped end in the pilot light. there is also a thermostat that shuts the gas off before the gas valve when fire reaches the temperature required.
Well Thank you all! After some serious study of the guts in the Truma S3002,I note a temp sensor lying along side the "cigar".!! It is a wire with a plastic flat pellet on the end. The original copper sensor must be u/s. Does this sound right??
