Hi, more questions I'm afraid guys after our weekend away. We tried to put the awning up first night but is was really hard to pull round the rail and kept coming out half way round. The rail is very dirty, what's best to clean it with? And is it easy to nip the awning rail together to stop it coming out?

We use a silicone spray can with a thin pipe nozzle.....just push it in the track spray then insert the awning and pull.....works a treat.

Prior to using a silicon spray it may be wise to use an awning cleaning brush to remove any debris or spiders etc.

Also, there is a tool to ensure the gap is free all round.

....Or even a toothbrush! A toothbrush is the most versatile item that can be used around the house or anywhere else - but just remember to keep the one used for the toilet bowl rim for that purpose only.....
As an alternative (or addition) to silicon spray, an ordinary (preferably BB) pencil run along the edge of the awning that fits into the rail....
