Bought a van in January, now out of warranty & seller not responding! At Easter all was fine but this weekend, both the heater & the water heater not working on gas!
Swift usually have a bank of 3 gas taps, often under the sink.
Make sure that these are all turned on. It is not difficult to knock one off accidentally.
Next make sure that the hob still works.
Check that the battery is fully charged and that the 12 volt system is turned on.
Now try and ignite the fire. Remember that it is the pilot light that you are trying to ignite which uses little gas. Because of this the gas may take quite some while to come through so you may need to keep trying.

Dave, thanks for reply. Yes all taps were on, oven/Hobbs/fridge never stopped & with heater I had the ignition flame which when released slowly, would fire up for about 30 seconds & then go out, although I did get the impression the gas was restricted (just a feeling). With the water it would ignite give the impression all was OK then go out.
My thoughts were a gas supply issue but as the other appliances were OK I was less convinced.
Can I ask why you mention 12v supply? All lights, toilet everything worked, apart from the fridge which the light flashes when on battery & not gas, the same when hooked up to tow, think I may have another problem with that also!
Have you removed the cover from the water heater flue on the outside of the van
the fridge will only work on 12v while connected to the car with the engine running .it has to be set to 240 for electric hook up & to gas for operation on gas
Hi Gapant
The 12 volt system is usually necessary to operate the ignition system.
What you are describing would normally mean the thermo couple device had failed but surely it is unlikely to fail in 2 appliances at the same time. So, sorry, I can't think of anything else that might hep.
As for the fridge, as "old chap" says, that only operates off of 12 volts when the car is connected and the engine running at more than tick over speed.
Hope that someone comes along with the heater answer.
