I have a sterling eccles diamond year 2004 when I first set up the water with the taps on full to fill the hot water tank it works fine but after a while the water pressure seems to drop and I have to wait for the water to come through again the water does remain hot, there are no obvious leaks as I keep checking..also is there an in line water filter on these particular makes and if so where are they situated. Many thanks in advance.
Shane
Hi Shane, not sure about your caravan but my in line filter is under the front seat next to the water inlet. I had a problem with water pressure and after de scaling the small filters in the taps it was cured (the caravan dealer I got the van from told me as the taps did not have micro switches I would need new taps after only ten months, think not!)
Hi Kenny I'll have a look and see if the in line filter is there, I had a lunar clubman b4 a 1998 and that was next to the water pump outside and all you did was turn the pressure up which was located near the heater on the inside it was simple but easy....much appreciated for the advice.....happy caravaning :-)
Some Whale water systems have a adjustable micro switch just after the inlet. this works by screwing down clock wise to increase pressure.
when you shut tap pump still runs till system is pressurized and then turns off as pressure has operated micro switch which closes 12 volt supply to pump.
If you over do it pump will not stop and you could burn out motor.
Open window nearest to pump at side of van turn on tap for water flow shut tap and listen to pump if it stops instantly screw down pressure switch half turn and test again should only carry on pumping for 10/15 seconds after shutting tap.
If this fails to increase hot water supply check drain valve is shut correctly lever in horizontal position.
Also check the outlet from water heater there should be a tee piece outlet, on one side there should be a clear plastic pipe connected, this is the air vent if water pressure does not close ball valve after venting there is most probably a minute piece of dirt holding vent open hence problem with hot water.
All aerators on taps should be cleaned on a regular basis as site water is notorious for foreign bodies,
If when you turn on the tap the pressure is fine then suddenly drops i would suspect the non return valve which usually is found on the outlet side of the hot water tank.
This can stick and some times a gentle tap can free it other than that its a simple job to replace if you are careful when screwing it out..

I'm just about to change the non return valve on my hot water tank due to a pressure drop when turning on the hot tap. No problem with the cold water as flows as normal.
The hot water non return valve is located at the bottom right hand corner which is directly behind the drain plug screw but because the hexagon is so close to the tank you won't be able to attach a ring spanner and a socket is too short and won't fit over the valve stem either. This will leave the temptation to using an open ended spanner but because the fact that plastic age hardens and an unequal anticlockwise pressure, the valve stem very often snaps leaving behind the plastic thread behind in the 16 mm. diameter hole. The only solution then is to use a junior hacksaw blade and cut a groove without damaging the cast thread and a thin narrow screwdriver to prize out the broken part. However, the proper tool for this application is to use a box spanner which is thinner and will fit over the valve hexagon snugly which the tommy bar can be then be used or even a socket and wrench on the opposite end to undo the defective valve with less chance of breaking. A box spanner set is shown in the link below.
