Hi all , had to buy a new pump housing and forgot to note the wiring on the old one ... I have an old sterling (1998) Europa looks like I have 2 purple wires and on white and yellow / orange ... Didn't want to try different combos in case I blew the circuit in some way... please help .. Thanks

Have the caravan battery connected (for a power source) and then test with a 12 volt light bulb. The small round tip of the base of the light bulb is the positive and the circular casing on the outside is the negative so just touch the two wires from the pressure switch that connect to the pump housing and see which way they go to illuminate the bulb to create the circuit. If it's the wrong way round and the bulb won't light. The rear of the pump housing will show the +/- connections that the appropriate wires have to be connected to.

Hi, thanks tango . my battery isn't in working order always had electric hook up so will have to try this I guess.

The 240 volt mains current goes to the circuit board then to the onboard charger which is also a transformer that reduces the voltage down to 14 volts which should be stabilised by the aid of a battery in the circuit. You don't have to have a battery installed but recommended to do so regarding the above reason.

Surely a 12volt light bulb will light whichever way round it's connected. It's only a resistive load.

Maybe you are right but the worst it can do is just blow the corresponding fuse. The OP just needed some guidance on how to re-connect the wiring to the water inlet to which I looked at the wiring in my handbook first but the wires unfortunately were different colours which was no help.
The OP says they have the problem sorted now which is good news anyway.
