We have just picked up a new us van. When we went to see the van shown everything working, but we have brought it home and none of the bathroom lights, the main lights and the water pump are not working. The fridge, sidelights and sockets are working. It is a Swift capri L 2001 (apparently same as a charisma). Has anyone any ideas??
Would really appreciate some advice
Everything you say isn't working are on your 12volt system. Everything that is working is on your 240v system. Sounds like you haven't switched on the 12v circuit. You'll probably have a switch under the bed and also one on a control panel somewhere.
We have a 3 way switch that says Car/Van and you can switch it to each of these or have it in like a neutral position in the middle. We have tried all 3 positions and still not working. Do you think there is another switch?
Difficult to know as I'm not familiar with your van. However the switch you mention should be in the 'van' position for 12v to work. I expect that somewhere you will have a consumer board with various on/off switches for isolating various parts of your system such as the 240v sockets. Check to make sure all the switches are on and check any fuses. Also are you sure you have a leisure battery insatalled - could the seller have removed the battery ?
Does the car/van switch also incorporate a volt meter - if so is that registering anything ? - If not then either the leisure battery is missing or it is not working. If it is showing a healthy level then you likely have a switch or fuse issue.
I don't know what control panel you have in there, but it sounds like the 12v switch is switched off, best thing you can do is google that control panel for user instructions, either that or play with the switches until you find the right switch for 12v.
