We've just got a new caravan (2001 Swift Fairway 470) and it's perfect apart from an issue with the water pump.

When running water, the fuse is getting very hot and the battery level goes from green to red and stays like this until we turn it all off, remove the fuse and turn the fuse switches back on and then we have no water. This isn't happening all the time and it can be fine and the next time we use the tap it happens again.

We've replaced the fuse and it is still happening.

Any ideas what it could be?

Hi, you don't say what type of pump you have. sounds like pump is trying to draw too much current. I suspect a faulty pump and would remove it and check it off the caravan.

Sorry, we have a whale watermaster I think. It came with the van from previous owner I believe.

I don't know whether to change the submersible pump as not sure if that's likely to be it?
