Drained van down 4 weeks ago, went this weekend and filled tank could hear a noise , lifted seating and water pouring out from under tank, think it's from a pipe, how easy is it to remove the water tank, it's a bailey ranger gt/50 1992
A 1992 model more than likely has the Carver Cascade 2 hot water tank installed which is shown in the link below (if it works) so can you confirm if it looks identical.
To the OP: If you need advice on removing the tank then you need to clarify if it is the one mentioned above first in order to provide the correct procedure of removal. It may not even need removing if it's a split pipe or spigot that the pipe connects to.
Okay thanks for the reply. The lower water pipe is connected to the non return valve which can often become defective but not that it should leak unless the connection is insecure but this is doubtful if the water system was okay and pressurising previously. The only other reason is if the pipe or non return valve has split but in either case the tank should not need to be removed as the repair although limited for access can be undertaken whilst in situ. Have a look to see if the pipe is connected by means of a push on fitment or jubilee clip as the latter can sometimes cause problems with leaks which may just require tightening up with a screwdriver or small ring spanner. If the leak is coming from the tank itself then more than likely it will be the big 'O' ring inside the tank which of then will require removal. If this is the case then if you do a search on Google for removal of Carver Cascade 2 hot water tank you should be able to find further information on it.
