Better seal the outside first.you will have to take the full inside front off as the grab rails are fixed to a baton of wood. The fix it club at the top of this link will help you http://www.1carpc.co.uk/wcdr/favorites.htm

Hi if I were doing the job reguards damp explore the damp first to see if the batons that the outside rails fasten to are rotten, if so replace these before sealing the outside.PS if your van is outside suggest buy a tarpaulin to fit over the van while you are doing the work.   cheers Stan

Hi can you get it under cover while you do the work ? if not you need a tarpaulin or cover and some duck tape as guzgog suggests.
I'm on with a similar project and have removed the damaged interior parts first, this imo allows a better look at whats going on and where the water is coming from, and lets air to it to start and dry out the damaged area.

I just came in here to post asking about repairs and seen this. I've got an old Avondale Perle with damp at front & back. It turned out to be pin holes in the roof so check for these...
GOOD LUCK!

I was looking forward to it until I discovered the cupboards are held up from the top side, having second thoughts now :(
Aye see how it goes, nice to have someone doing the same being on the same wave length... nothing ventured, nothing gained eh ;)

I put all the screws back in and gave up on it, its just too much taking the top-side screws out on a 23 yr old van worth £500. Too much too close to the coming season. I'd rather concentrate on the dodgy injector on my mondeo tdci estate to to it around with lol.
thanks for caring :)
