Hi . Not posted for a bit , I would like to know if anyone who uses whale direct mains water connections do they tend to leak to the outside of the van  ........ That is from the O ring on the caravan fitting . .
I have to say I bought one 12 months ago ,used it once and had an issue with onboard pump so never used it again , just supply mains pressure to side of aquaroll instead . I did fit a new o ring which didn't improve it ,It was a genuine whale part  too . I think there is a tolerance issue on the whale kit
I have spoke to a random amount of caravaners on sites and a few have said that they all leak in there opinions . Just thought Id ask here and see the reaction .  And if there is a fix .

We used the Whale system on our old Bessacarr for 15 years and it was completely reliable and went with the van, still working.
The o rings (and there are 2 of them) are quite a narrow cross section, but shouldn't leak. Replace both and lubricate them with whatever you choose. I used Vaseline, but some will say this is not the best. Apply also to the plastic 'tube' that the o rings slide into. However, it works and you should plan to replace the o rings every season, as they tend to stretch, break, or tear.

If you don't lubricate them, its very difficult to fit the connector block to the van successfully, without a leak. It should be such that you can fold down the cover flap to the horizontal position, so that that the moulding on the flap holds the block in place. If don't achieve this, then do expect a leak

Unfortunately, there is an inherent issue with the pressure limiting valve in the device which causes the flow rate to be lower than using your pump. There is no resolution to this. If you have an onboard tank, the best use of the device is to use it to fill the tank, then use the pump as normal.

Cheers for that ,what you say is "bob on". I repaced (I think its one O ring ) the O ring ,decided not to lubricate with silicon grease 12 months ago , and as expected now it leaks like a sieve . Last weekend I filled the onboard tank and then disconnected because of the freeing risk .It did the hose pipe froze . I also have some o ring lubricant I might try ,it actually swell the rings slightly which looks like it will be a bonus . Best regards Martin
