Old Electrolux 3 way, works fine on gas, trips the electrics on the 240v.
Took fridge out, tried on mains in the house, still trips the electrics as soon as switch on, would this very much likely be the 240v element causing this? Cos I can take the old one off and replace easy enough, but I'm a lazy sod, and would like to know if that's the likely cause of the tripping.
Thanks sauce, your a star as always, was a bugger getting it out though, it seems as though the sink had had a bit of a leak in the waste pipe, and the 240v element was rusted into place quite hard, got him in the end though,
Although the fridge is ancient, it's still a standard element isn't it? L shaped bar, 2 brown wires and an earth.
Yes, that sort goes on Fridges going back to 80s I think. Provided new one looks like old one you will be ok. This one. Your fridge number should be among those.
