Hi All,
After 8 weeks of non use since new year, I have had our hot water system fail at some point during storage (drained before storage). The pump runs correctly and I am able to fill the heater chamber without issue. The cascade switch box is showing a constant green light as is the control panel switch. But there is no attempt to light the gas to heat the water.

If I open the cascade switch box and unplug the DIN plug, noting still happens, all lights are still green, but if I plug it in slowly, in a way that appears to make contact with roughly the centre 3 pins of the DIN first, then the Electric Gas Valve clicks open and the igniter clicks away and the system sparks up as it should until I make contact with the remaining pins, then it just shuts down again still showing all green lights.

Do you have any ideas as I cant find a wiring diagram that will help and I don’t want to have to remove the heater unit unless necessary.

Thanks
Simon

The source of the igniter comes from the leisure battery so if you have a flat or low voltage battery it could be contributing to the problem due to a weak spark. You need a voltmeter and check what voltage is in the battery first as it could be something simple especially as the green light is illuminated.

That sounds like you are checking the battery when it's under load and receiving a charge from 240 volt mains. You need to check the battery in it's true state which should be around 12.7 volts.

OK, thank you ill check.
The voltmeter shows a good voltage and it ignites no problem if you do the plug method though.

How far over 12 volts though?
12.5 volts or below is flat battery so you need to be a bit more specific with your answer.

Intersting problem there, the green light should only light up when all is good, the orange light is for low battery and red is for no gas.
The lights on my control panel started doing strange things so I bought another control board, it wasn't very expensive but it sorted my problem out, it may be 1 or more solder joints have gone dry or something is shorting out somewhere, it could also be that the lead has somehow got damaged, I can find the lead on ebay for about £6.00 and the replacement pcb on O'Learys for £26.00.
I think I paid about £15.00 for the control panel on ebay 2 years ago.

Yes I do have the carver cascade 2.
