Hi, slight leak from off side front. Identified as overflow (?) pipe from red elbow type fitting on top of boiler. Increased to such extent that we have had to turn pump off, which obviously cuts the flow as there is no pressure in system.
Any ideas for a quick fix, as we are miles from home!
OK, discovered the cause. The red elbow contains a ball valve to allow air to be drawn into boiler when draining the system. The ball which controls this can get stuck or even lost. So now I know.
Addition from Alde : probably hard water deposit on the ball in the valve , solution is to drain system, remove elbow, put it and supermarket descaaler in kettle and heat.Cleans kettle and ball in one! Makes sense - with hindsight - at least 2 of the sites we use regularly have very hard water, deposit on taps and in cooking utensils Worth bearing in mind!
had exactly the same after two months of ownership of new coachman.
Took elbow off and blew through. no issues since although Alde sent me a replacement one which I have kept as a spare in the van.
if i have to change out I will try descaling the old one once off.
