My son in law has a 2005 ranger. The water heater heats up but will not sustain the heat so the shower runs cold after a couple of minutes. Any ideas

You only have about 10 litres of hot water and it soon runs out. Maybe he's expecting too much.

Thank you for the reply. have a senator series 6 which supplies as much water as I need. Is the ranger substantially different?

Yes we had a Senator 6, and it as a bigger element.
Also the pump is much faster in litre per second.

Try running the gas side along with electric heater to heat the water when showering, two heat inputs should heat up the water flowing into the tank quickly.
