hi everyone im currently renovating a Avondale perle Orestes (not sure of the year). Caravan had a really bad wet rotting wall so we ripped wall out and recovered the wall in ply. the next problem i have is down the side of the caravan between the outside wall and the floor there is a huge gap along the whole of one side (widest at the door end) do you guys have any tips or tricks how i could reconnect them together? was thinking of just using really long screws all down the side? what do you guys advise. also the van is going to be static and not towed its just being like a summer chill out for the back garden. any help would be great, plus im very new to all this so please excuse me if i dont make sense

Hi, I think the walls normally sit on the floor with an overhanging lip Which is then screwed through to the batten that runs along the edge of the floor sandwich construction. This is how mine is constructed anyway. I had to replace about 4 feet of the floor batten and the bottom of the wall timber due to water ingress. I used a PU adhesive / sealant and long screws to repair it.

As yours is the whole length I'd suggest repairing it in sections as if you try and do it all at once you might have issues with the structure twisting or collapsing. Alternatively you might be able to brace it internally whilst you do the work

Sean.
