Hi folks i have just discovered a brown circular lichen dotted all over the roof of my van . Does anyone have any suggestions to get rid of. I have tried just a gentle circular rubbing with some finnigans cleaner to no avail. It will come off with an aggressive scraping but i dont want to wreck the van.
Cheers

This is an awkward one nor being able to see the stuff first hand. You can buy some mould remover from places like Home and Bargain fir about a quid a bottle. I used some on a pvc window frame in our bathroom and it got rid of the black mould very quickly. You would need to check the bottle to ensure that it won't affect your vans paintwork though. Try WD40 as well, if you can use it for cleaning paint brushes I am sure removing a bit of moss would be a breeze. Or make up a 50/50 solution of washing up liquid and warm water, brush it on and leave it for a while to see if it lifts it. Anything that saves you a lot of scrubbing must be worth a try. Good luck and post what works best 🙂👍

Wait until it rains for a while or try early morning with a heavy dew. That should have softened it & it should come off with car shampoo & a wash brush.

If this weather holds one weekend, we're going to try a bottle of 'wet & forget' on our van....

Got a bottle of the stuff from Costco, and there's nothing on the label that says 'DO NOT' use on paintwork / plastics etc....

As has any one noticed the lichen and mosses grow out of all the nooks and crannys...??

Another reason why I'm using W&F... I hope the liquid will soak into the gaps / under trims to hopefully kill off any sources of possible regrowth....

Damned if I do...

Damned if I don't!!!!
