I'm hoping some-one on this site knows more about micro-switches than I do.
I own a 1989 Swift Corniche 12/2 2 berth. Bought it last year from a friend and a caravan service engineer did a safety inspection said he was surprised at how good a condition it is in. This apart, we are experiencing problems with the taps in the kitchen basin and the bathroom. Turn one on in one place and another comes on somewhere else etc. I have been told that it's the micro switches. I have taken a photo of the taps to try to establish make etc. so I can get new switches. Does anyone know what type of switch these use and I would also like to know how to access the switches to replace if possible.
Thank you for any help offered.

UPDATE - Over the weekend I was able to take a closer inspection and the taps have the name 'Keller' on the cap. Tried to remove one, but either very not meant to be removed or solid, but tap turns fine. Having now searched with the new info, am more confused as some-one suggest these do not have micro -switches. How would I confirm either way?

Hi blueexpo97,
Thank you for taking the time to respond to my post.

Yes, I have seen all these. Any links etc. are out of date or obsolete now.
It would seem the more research done, the more confusing it gets. I read on one posting that Keller taps do not have micro switches, but operates off a pressurised system.

If one tap is opened and nothing happens until a second tap is opened, this would indicate that the first one has a faulty micro switch. The MS on the second tap must be working since it causing the pump to come on giving flow to both taps.

If you had a pressurised system, then the first tap would come straight away. Therefore I would suggest that the MS diagmosis is correct.

Don't worry about the same model of tap having/not having a MS. That just allows a choice for the manufacture of the van to supply MS system or pressurised system.

I believe that Keller taps are/were German and were supplied by Alde, so it might be worth a call to them. Failing that, if you can access the MS, try CAK Tanks as they are almost certain to have something.

Had a look through the posts I linked, there is a reference to Alde but it was from 12 years ago, and I can find nothing on the web linking the two companies now.

Here is a link to C.A.K. Tanks.

Thanks chrisn7 and blueexpo97,

We took the old girl (caravan) away for Easter and managed without the taps, but whilst working accidentally broke the mixer spout for the kitchen taps, so will need to replace now. As the caravan is so old and spares difficult to find or obsolete, will probably replace all, though don't use the shower head.
Will continue the search.
Roger (over & out)

Standard caravan microswitch taps are available from any caravan supplier. These are the usual cheapest replacements. This for double & this for single.
