Hi all, the pump in my Bailey Madrid won't switch off properly. It keeps humming after the tap has been turned off. Whale website says to adjust pressure switch but I can't find where that is!
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Ellie

it's either on the back of the inlet ( most likely ) or inline from it - follow the pipe from the inlet until you see something with a thumbwheel on top

If the water system was working perfectly previously then I doubt whether it's the pressure switch that has lost adjustment but down to low battery voltage. As the power diminishes the pump runs for longer periods prior to switching off till eventually the water pump runs continously and drains the battery. You need a voltmeter to check the battery voltage first before tinkering about with the pressure switch otherwise you eventually end up having two problems to sort out instead of one.
If the battery shows a full charge of 12.7 volts or more then you can attempt to re-adjust the pressure switch.

Thanks for all the quick replies, guys!
Tango - this problem started last year. Had the van serviced and they could t find anything wrong. This is first trip away this year and it's causing problem again. I asked Bailey about it last year and they said it was a Whale problem, not theirs. We had the van on the drive for a day and plugged it into mains (via an adaptor!) and the pump seemed to be shutting off, but now we're on a site, With full 16v hook-up, it's playing up again. The battery was fully charged before we left home.

Paul - haven't got either of those things! Is there a way to post photos on here? Have taken some to show what's under the bunk near the water inlet and heater but don't know how to post them.

I'm afraid that Bailey have it wrong and just pasiing the buck. It doesn't matter what brand or make the components are, they installed them at their factory so it's their responsibilty and down to them to resolve the matter.
How old is the caravan and is it still under warranty?

Tango, the van is 4 years old, so is out of warranty. Found a number for Whale in the info room on site, plus some mobile engineers, so hopefully will get sorted while we are away. It's easier for someone to see the fault while it's happening, I suppose.

Thanks for all your suggestions.
Regards
Ellie
