Having two rumbustious kids was always going to be a challenge for those spindly front slats on the pull-out.
So once two were broken, we decided to take action and I couldn't believe how simple the solutions was.
Buy a complete new set of 15 slats from Bailey Parts. Cost under £30. Then strip out the old slats (tad fiddly as the staples they use are huge). Then take off all the unbroken slats using pincers and a nail puller.
Then, using a staple gun, fill in every 'gap' on the new slats with an unbroken slat. Replace the bed slats into the rails (again, a bit fiddly)
Result. Much firmer for the orthopaedic feel and much stronger for the kids to leap around on And yes, it all still slides perfectly down into the recess under the table.
Took me an hour.
