I have a problem with my 12v supply from the leisure battery. 12v system works fine when connected to the car.
Ok obviously its the battery. Nope has been checked Ok. actually works the mover no problem but that is a seperate battery connection..
12v switched off no switched on.
Just nothing 12v works at all.
It is a 1998 Bailey Ranger 420/2 been perfect for years has me stumped and as I live in Munich bit of a problem to get to a Bailey dealer.
Anybody any ideas?

Possibly failed transformer/charger. Generic item. You can buy them in Germany. Is it buzzing or smelling? That's a sign it's on the way out. Caravan electrics are all much the same. A caravan workshop local to you can fix it if you can't.
I wouldn't have thought that the charger would be at fault, as things should still work off the battery when not on EHU, and the O/P says the battery is ok.
If this has happened suddenly, I would suspect a blown fuse or broken connection at the change-over switch for car/caravan battery.
1998 was when the habitation relay was introduced I think. Sounds like that is stuck. My guess is it senses voltage from the car and that energises the relay switching it to car battery.
Presumably the car engine is not running when the 12volt works from the car.
Do you have a changeover switch for car/caravan or is it automatic.
The caravan was a special edition ranger for Broadland caravans.
The changeover is automatic.
Car engine was not running when I tried the car connection.
I think as all works ok when connected to car the changeover seems to be the most likely.
Where on earth is it. The PCU is a PCU1250 before I disassemble I would like to know what I am looking for and where or should I leave well alone?
How did you test the battery? A dead battery can still show 12volts on a test meter.
But the voltage will drop when actually connected to a device.
A motor will move even when the voltage drops. But LED and strip lights need a certain voltage or they just wont work where a standard bulb will just glow dimly.

The motor-mover is probably by far the heaviest current consuming device on the caravan, so if there is enough power in the battery to turn the motors, any lights should light brightly, as they take much less power than a motor capable of moving a caravan.
If the changeover between car and caravan battery is automatic, there must be some kind of relay somewhere to perform that changeover. That would be where I would start looking.
My guess is you have a timber drop down flap in the front of the front seat box. behind the flap you have the MCBs etc and a few switches like charger and pump etc.
Behind this there is a big box inside the seat box. I reckon the relay is in there. Whether you can get at it or what it looks like I do not know.
I have changed the entire box on a 1999 Ranger after the electricity board blew it up and that was a very simple unplugging job.
There is also a fuse somewhere near your battery - give it a good wiggle. I arrived on a rally field and nothing worked. I just took the fuse out and put same one back in and it worked
