Hi,
Im looking for recommendations for a friend that may need some damp repairs to her caravan. Technically we could probably do it ourselves but its not practical.
Stokenchurch near high wycombe.
Probably needs an awning rail redone and maybe some work inside as screws in awning rail spin so suspect wood is rotten, damp only detectable about 3/4 inches from rail inside for about 3/4 feet from floor. Wallboard is soft right in the back corner but only half an inch or so in width. She was quoted 1500 to repair at a main dealer but that also included some other bits so probably £1000, which isn't feasible.
We're going to put a new window seal in the back window ourselves as that has a damp reading but no signs of damage yet though the seal easily lifts in places.
I've done an awning rail myself but it was a nightmare to get the screws out so don't want to start on someone else's van as its not somewhere it can be left partially repaired.
thanks
