When I first came to these forums I was worried about a soft spot in the floor of a 2002 Abbey Aventura 318;
Thanks to all the wounderful people that came to my aid with great advise I now know how to fix this problem, its an easy one to fix.
Anyway while I was waiting on the materials to fix the floor I did some exploration into a wet soft spot in the left rear corner of the van and what I thought was going to be an easy fix turned out to be a major job, After striping the plywood back I found that at sometime in its life the caravan had been dinged and badly repaired and had not replaced the seals properly hence a leek which has rotted the timber framing and floor in that corner including the 5mm ply wood both upper and lower sheets and frame. I also found rotten framing under the toilet hatch, So now the back whole back of the van has been striped out.
What I plan to do is replace the top sheet of ply first, This way I can use the bottom sheet of ply as a template to drill any new holes that are required and the other way round once I've replaced the floor framing and insulation, this should give me a solid base to work with in the repair of the wall framing and batons,( which there isn't much of )Id add photos but I don't know how.
