Hi all,
I'm fitting a new battery charger that's fits inside the consumer unit, unfortunately the original was missing, the 12v side is a simple connection but not sure how to connect the 240v side, inside the consumer unit via the breaker labelled "charger's does anyone have a wiring diagram or sketch, thanks
The charger also known as a transformer has a black 3 pin socket built into the casing and this is where the corresponding plug connects to. The mains cable to the transformer should be located near to the consumer unit unless it's an old caravan that didn't have a charger installed at the time of manufacture.
There's no clue to go on with reference to your outfit in your profile so it may help if you said what make and year your caravan is.
Hi tango55,
That's the charger 20amp (as picture you sent), the mains cable has come with 3 bare wires which you can either put a 3 pin plug on or wire into the consumer unit, there's no socket nearby so I can not use a plug, is there wiring diagram showing where to connect the live, neutral and earth, thanks
The earth goes to the earth terminal bar inside the consumer unit and the live and neutral go to the appropriate mcb and get wired into the top of it. Electric off before wiring of course.
