Hello all,
Can someone recommend a security lock for my 2010 bailey Ranger GT60 / 5 berth please.
I did get the van cheap so I would like to invest in a good quality hitch lock.
Many thanks.

A good quality hitchlock will certainly stop it being towed away unless it is broken off or removed by a thief. Same with with wheelclamp. Insurer generally requires hitchlock & wheelclamp when caravan is unattended though. If caravan has Alko stabiliser hitch then Alko do a specific lock for it. Expensive new but usually a few secondhand on ebay.
Actually a hitch lock doesn't stop the caravan being towed away, The hitch an be chained onto the tow bar and it would allow a thief to get far enough away to allow them the break off the Hitchcock without disturbing anyone.
Do you seriously think a caravan thief who wants to make a quick getaway 50miles down the road would try to get away with a caravan chained to his towbar? He would make more noise than breaking off the lock & he wouldn't get 50yds before caravan dropped off in the road. I'm struggling to work out how it would be possible to chain a large caravan with a hitch lock on to a towbar & tow it at all.
To the OP this is more than likely what you're after.

It all depends on what model stabiliser is fitted to the caravan hitch as not all hitch locks are universal as some may think. For example, a hitch lock for an Al-ko AKS 2000 hitch lock won't fit the 1300 or 3004 models because the handle is offset so you need to be certain which one you need first. Although the AKS 2000 model wasn't that popular they are still in service but getting hold of a hitch lock for one can be quite difficult.
