We are fortunate in having room to store our caravan at home and therefore leave it hooked up to the mains.
We leave the Truma Blown air heating on 500w and turn down the thermostat to minimum with the fan off. This effectively works as a frost guard.

Just been out to the van and sure enough it has kicked in the heating and the van is aired but not warm.

Does anyone know if this is possible using the new Aldi wet system as we have a new van on order.

Hi,

The minimum setting for the Alde is 1kw but because the system is programmable and thermostatically controlled the temperature can be constantly set to whichever level you prefer as a means of frost control.

There are loads of videos on You Tube with information about the Alde system which may be of help to you.

I think that, with the Alde system, you will be keeping a small tank of water at a constant high temperature. The room thermostat only controls the circulating pump.

Your current Truma system, does not consume power when the required temperature has been achieved.

If you think that frost protection is necessary, maybe you should investigate a small electric heater.

If I am mistaken, then I await correction!

You certainly won't regret having an Alde system. When on site I just turn it on and forget about it. You can set the controls to give you different temperatures during the day and night.
Personally I cannot see why you would want to keep the heating on when the caravan is not being used but the Alde would be perfectly OK for that if you wanted.
