We have a Swift Corniche 12/2 approx 1985. The shower leaks from the shower head when the taps are turned off. We can’t see a way to remove the taps, which are the brown plastic mixer type. The caravan has the original carver water pump. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks :)

Have you unscrewed the shower head from the flexible pipe and checked the rubber 'O' ring seal to see if has perished?
If it's old then quite likely it's hardened and needs replacing.

Thank you. We’ve had a look at the washers and have taken them out to replace just in case, but the water seems to be coming from the shower head rather than the connection between the head and the hose, which was why we were thinking it was something to do with the taps?

Does the water flow through the shower head as it should when the hot and cold shower taps are turned on?

Could it be frost damage has cracked part of the tap? if its been overwintered without the taps being left open / shower head removed, this can happen, or maybe burst a seal under the tap head.

Thanks. I think we only left the kitchen taps open. Any idea how to get into the taps to find out?

HI, Without seeing taps its difficult, but i would think a good starting point is to remove tap heads, fixed by screw under cover? as on a sink mixer with acrylic heads, can you post a picture in your profile ?

We think the coloured disc on the taps is a sticker rather than a screw cover and there doesn’t seem to be an obvious way to remove the taps. I have taken a photo but I’m not sure how to post it.

They look very much the taps in my van which are COMET
I had a go at sorting one out by prising the top knob off and then had a devils own job of trying to get it back together and set right and after about ten thousands tries gave up and bought and new one which is what I would recommend because they are not that expensive to replace and you will save yourself one hell of a lot of time and trouble.

Thank you. We can’t see a way to remove the taps. The coloured discs appear to be stickers and not screw covers. Any ideas? Do you think we need to remove the shower/sink panel to get to them? Seems odd that there’s no easier way.
